Are you an experienced Children Social Worker?

Do you have a passion for helping others?

If so, Randstad is recruiting a Children Social Worker to join the Herefordshire Council for the Assessments Team. This is a full-time role offering up to £40k annually.

Responsibilities:
  • Join our improvement journey as part of the Assessment Team, working directly with children and families, alongside other staff and partner agencies.
  • Respond to referrals in a child-focused and timely manner.
  • Conduct assessments and investigate concerns to determine appropriate support for children and families.
  • Be fully qualified (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent) with at least 2 years' experience in statutory social care.
  • Utilize skills in assessment, report writing, and managing complex caseloads to improve outcomes for children and families in Herefordshire.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Registered as a social worker with Social Work England.
  • Hold a Degree, Diploma, C.S.S, or C.Q.S.W in Social Work.
  • Knowledge of current legislation and guidance affecting social care.
  • Experience in person-centred, strengths-based, outcome-focused assessments, care management, and review.
  • Ability to undertake safeguarding enquiries, with appropriate training and experience.
  • Potential to undertake courses such as Practice Education, Best Interest Assessor, or Approved Mental Health Professional.
  • Experience working in partnership with other agencies to ensure safety and support independence.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Social Work England registration.
  • At least 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified social worker.
  • Social Work Degree or equivalent.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
