The Role

Westway Trust is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Children Services Manager to lead and develop our early years provision in North Kensington.

You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing a team, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and culturally appropriate childcare. Working closely with colleagues, external partners, and regulators, you will play a key role in expanding our offer to better support local families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the staff team to deliver Nursery and Creche services.
  • Liaise with all relevant staff to ensure maximum opportunities for employment, personal and professional development, and organizational engagement.
  • Develop, monitor, and review activities to ensure high standards of childcare and learning.
  • Quality assure, develop, and improve services to maintain and enhance our Ofsted position.
  • Apply all Trust policies to the service and develop any bespoke policies as needed.
  • Attend budget planning with the finance team to understand and manage the budget effectively, aligning with growth strategies.
  • Keep appropriate records of all children, considering their social and individual developmental needs.
  • Monitor and report on service delivery objectives, providing feedback to staff for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team for media, marketing, recruitment, branding, and engagement activities.
  • Provide data for internal and external reporting as required.
  • Represent Westway Trust at relevant events and activities.
  • Contribute to wider Trust activities to encourage team engagement.

The Person

  • Relevant childcare qualification at Level 4 or higher.
  • Minimum 2 years of managing a nursery, including monitoring, reporting, and quality improvement.
  • Experience as the main contact for Ofsted.
  • Proven ability to develop successful partnerships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Strong planning, scheduling, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working under pressure and managing staff development.
  • Resource and budget management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in IT.
