An experienced and committed Children's Social Worker is sought to join an Early Intervention Team supporting children, young people and families to achieve positive and lasting outcomes. Working within a strengths-based, child-centred approach, you will assess needs, identify risks and coordinate effective support at the earliest opportunity. You will work collaboratively with children, parents and carers, schools, health professionals, community services and other partners to promote safety, wellbeing and improved family functioning.
Your responsibilities will include completing high-quality assessments, developing and reviewing care and support plans, undertaking direct work with children and families, and monitoring progress against agreed outcomes. You will contribute to safeguarding enquiries, attend and prepare for professional meetings, maintain accurate and timely case records, and ensure that children's voices, wishes and feelings remain central to decision-making. Where necessary, you will respond appropriately to escalating concerns and ensure that relevant statutory procedures are followed. You will also provide advice, guidance and practical support to families, helping them build on their strengths and access appropriate services.
You must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and current registration with the relevant professional body, together with experience of working with children, young people and families in a statutory or community-based setting. Strong knowledge of safeguarding practice, child development, assessment frameworks and relevant legislation is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound professional judgement, excellent communication and report-writing skills, and the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively. A collaborative, reflective and resilient approach is required, alongside a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and families. A full driving licence and access to transport may be required for community visits. In return, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a supportive early intervention service and make a meaningful difference to local families.
