Job summary

Barnsley Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Early Help Team in Barnsley. You will assess families, plan interventions, and work with partner agencies to support children’s wellbeing.

The role involves direct support to families, maintaining case records, and contributing to continuous service improvement. A recognised social work qualification and registration are required.

Qualifications

  • Recognised social work qualification (Degree in Social Work,DipSW,or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England is required.
  • Experience working with children and families, preferably in early help or preventative settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities
