Children’s Support Worker (Schools)- SEPTEMBER

Milk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious SEND Teaching Assistant.

You’ll be joining an inclusive and supportive school, focused on diversity and promoting a loving academic environment for those with additional needs.

This is an exciting role for an experienced educator to join a fantastic school to support pupils in reaching their potential!

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Support Worker to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive Secondary SEN School from September 2025. This is a full-time position, supporting pupils in Key Stage 3 with a range of learning, physical, and medical needs.

You will play a vital role in helping our students access learning, develop life skills, and feel safe and valued in the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for KS3 pupils with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

Assist students with personal care, feeding, and medical needs, including the use of specialist equipment (full training provided)

Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and external healthcare professionals to deliver tailored support plans

Help create a positive, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports student learning and well-being

Monitor progress and contribute to individual education and care plans (IEPs and EHCPs)

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or young people with medical and/or educational needs

Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and working in a school environment

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with high needs

Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

Willingness to undertake relevant medical and care training
