Children's Support Worker – SEN School (Bamber Bridge)

Location: Bamber Bridge
Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Are you a dedicated and empathetic support worker with a passion for helping children with special educational needs (SEN) reach their full potential? We are recruiting for a Children’s Support Worker to join a dynamic and nurturing SEN school in Bamber Bridge.

The school caters to pupils aged 2–19 with a wide range of learning difficulties, including autism, complex needs, and physical disabilities. The role is ideal for someone with previous experience in support work or healthcare who is eager to bring their skills into an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children and young people with a variety of SEN needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and therapy staff to implement individual education and care plans.
  • Support pupils in developing communication, social, and independence skills.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility where necessary.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and stimulating environment both in and out of the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in support work or a healthcare setting is essential.

  • Confidence in working with children with complex needs and behaviours.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
