Job description

We are currently seeking a Children's Support Worker to work within our partner SEND school setting in the Taunton area. The Children's Support Worker role involves supporting school-aged pupils who have been identified as having Special Educational Needs. This will include suppporting pupils in the classroom alongside the Class Teacher and other members of support staff.

About the school

Set in Somerset, this school offers a broad range of learning activities as well as individualised learning to support the education and wellbeing of each student. Students will have a range of Special Educational needs that require a patient, nurturing Individual to support them.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Children's Support Worker you will:

  • Be compassionate, understanding and caring.
  • Be flexible, proactive and a team player.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with children and young people.
  • Be able to demonstrate at interview the reasons why you want to start a career in education, and explain your understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant and the important part they play in the school community.
  • Understand the crucial importance of keeping children and young people safe.
  • Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.
