Your role as a Children’s Support Worker involves working closely with children in care, ensuring they are at the centre of your efforts. Your daily responsibilities will include supporting their educational pursuits, hobbies, and activities.

Your support will be influential in fostering positive outcomes and shaping the future of children and young people.

You should be highly motivated, committed, and genuinely interested in providing high-quality care for children and young people. With Nurseplus, you will work across various settings including Mental Health, Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Education, and Residential care.

Responsibilities of a Children’s Support Worker:

• Supporting, safeguarding, and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people
• Assisting with daily routines, which may include community and educational settings
• Organising and facilitating social activities
• Transportation
• Working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe practice
• Providing high levels of supervision and support
• Working in line with Ofsted and CQC regulations
• Managing complex behaviours and crisis interventions
• Contributing to care plans and risk assessments, including reviews and implementation

Requirements for a Children’s Support Worker:

• At least 12 months of post-qualification experience working with children or young adults
• All candidates must be over 21 years old to meet industry regulations
• Knowledge in one of the following areas: EBD, SEMH, CSE, or SEN/SEND
• Diploma Level 3 in children’s and young people’s work; Level 4 is desirable
