Job summary

Paragon Social Care is seeking a Children\'s Support Worker to provide practical and emotional support to children and young people in residential homes and community packages within Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.

You will help young people become more independent, confident and engaged, while following safeguarding protocols and working closely with social workers and families. This role offers flexible shifts and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Access to own vehicle for work.
  • Available to work a minimum of 2–3 shifts per week.
  • Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Care or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, trauma-informed care to children and young people.
  • Build positive, professional relationships based on trust and respect.
  • Support daily routines, education and life skills.
  • Encourage hobbies, healthy routines and community participation.
  • Transport to school, appointments and activities.
  • Work with social workers, families and other professionals.
  • Maintain records and contribute to safeguarding processes.

The Role

As a Children's Support Worker, you'll provide practical and emotional support to children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs within residential homes and community-based support packages.

You'll become a positive role model, helping young people feel safe, supported and encouraged while promoting independence and positive life choices.

Your role could include:

Essential Requirements
