Job Description:

Working as a Children's Speech and Language Therapist, you will be delivering face-to-face therapy sessions for children with communication and language disorders. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with families and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and effective therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough assessments to diagnose and identify speech and language disorders in children.
  • Developing and implementing individualised therapy plans based on assessment findings and in accordance with relevant guidelines and protocols.
  • Providing face-to-face therapy sessions for children, employing evidence-based techniques to enhance communication skills.
  • Collaborating closely with parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to set and achieve therapy goals.
  • Monitoring and documenting progress, adjusting therapy plans as required.
  • Offering guidance and support to parents/caregivers, providing strategies for home-based practice.
  • Staying ahead of current research and developments in the field of speech and language therapy.
  • Attending team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions as necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential client records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Speech and Language Therapy Degree.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) or equivalent professional body.
  • Proven experience in delivering speech and language therapy to children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of clients.
