Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist interested in developing their skills in paediatrics to join our innovative and motivated Children’s Therapy team in Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

The service consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and therapy assistants. We have team bases in both Halifax and Huddersfield.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Provide Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment, and advice in various settings including clinics, schools, and nurseries for children of all ages.
  2. Manage your own specialist caseload independently.
  3. Work within Trust policies and professional standards, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
  4. Carry out specialist assessments and treatments for children with complex needs, facilitating understanding and active participation of children, young people, and carers in managing conditions.
  5. Determine clinical diagnoses, develop, implement, evaluate, and modify individualised treatment programmes, and liaise with other agencies for appropriate care pathways.
  6. Participate in the education and training of Occupational Therapists and other healthcare, social care, and education staff, including medical personnel.
