Job summary

Leeds City Council is seeking social workers to join our teams across Leeds, delivering high-quality services to children and families.

You will have a professional social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and bring experience in statutory settings, safeguarding, and restorative practice.

We offer flexible/hybrid working, training and supervision, and opportunities to develop through Practice Educator Level 1.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
• ASYE completed and prepared to work towards Practice Educator Level 1.
• A minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience in a statutory setting.
• Knowledge of safeguarding policies and English legislation.
• Ability to engage children and families and advocate for them.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload with complexity appropriate to experience.
• Assess needs, plan interventions, and manage risk for children and families.
• Develop relationships with children, young people and carers to improve outcomes.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and provide evidence in court if required.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to students and newly qualified staff.
