Children’s Social Worker MASH #RQ1516857

Please be aware this is a Long Term Temporary post to start ASAP.

Team Description

The Children with Disabilities Team manages cases where disability is the overriding factor to consider regarding outcomes and impact for the child. Our functions include assessing and offering appropriate short break services to children with diagnosed disabilities and/or complex health needs and their families. Some disabled children also require safeguarding, and in these cases, we manage children involved in the child protection process, including Child Protection Conferences, Public Law Outline, and Proceedings.

What else does the team offer?

Many children in our team are Cared for Children, either on Full Care Orders or section 20 agreements. These cases are managed under Care Planning and Fostering Regulations with oversight from an Independent Reviewing Officer.

How does the team work?

The Children with Disabilities Team is part of the Early Help and Schools Department and collaborates with colleagues in SEN, RAN, Educational Psychology, and Hearing and Visual Impairment teams.
