Job Opportunity - Qualified Social Worker - £35ph

Position: Qualified Social Worker - Looked after Children

Salary: £35 per hour

Location: Leeds City Council

Contract:Temporary

Leeds City Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) Team. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring that children in our care receive the highest standards of support, safeguarding, and permanency planning.

About the role:

  • Manage a caseload of Looked After Children in accordance with statutory responsibilities and local policies
  • Undertake regular statutory visits, direct work, assessments, care planning and reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies including education, health, and fostering services.
  • Promote the welfare, safety, and development of each child in care, ensuring timely interventions and permanency planning.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records in line with professional standards and council procedures.
  • Attend court as required, preparing and presenting high-quality reports and care plans.
