Job summary

Cambian, part of the CareTech family, is hiring a Registered Manager in Shrewsbury to lead a children's home. You will develop tailored care plans, manage staff, and ensure high standards of care in line with regulatory requirements.

Entry salary up to 50,000 per annum DOE with a MIP/annual bonus scheme and a comprehensive induction. You will receive leadership development and ongoing training from our in-house academy.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in residential care of children, with 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each young person's needs.
• Build a strong team by working with recruitment to hire suitable staff.
• Complete induction and personal development plans to ensure stability.
• Consult with young people about their care.
• Allocate key workers to implement care plans.
• Maintain high standards in line with the quality standards and the home's purpose.
• Handle complaints and child protection concerns.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and professionals to promote welfare.
• Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings.
• Embrace a safe culture and ensure best possible care.

Develop a great team: Working with the recruitment teams support, bring in the right people for your home.

Complete company induction and personal development plans, retaining a strong team to ensure familiar faces for the young people.

Foster Consultation: Develop systems to consult young people about the care they receive.

Allocate Key Workers: Assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their care plan.

Maintain High Standards: Establish and monitor high-quality care standards in line with the quality standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose.

Handle Complaints and Concerns: Take responsibility for addressing any complaints or child protection concerns.

Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.

Participate in Meetings: Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as appropriate.

Embrace a safe culture: Ensure the children in your service are cared for at the best possible standard.

Essential Requirements and Experience

Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.

Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to start within 6 months of employment.

Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.

Skills: Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.

Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.

Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.

Driving License: Full UK required.
