Children's Senior Residential Support Worker

Location: Rochdale

Hourly Rate: £12.50 - 13.80

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 35 – 40 hours per week (Full Time)

The Recruitment Crowd has partnered with a children's residential home in Rochdale seeking a caring, supportive Senior Support Worker who can demonstrate warmth, love, and acceptance, even on the toughest days. If this describes you, please read on.

The children and young people supported have experienced trauma and deserve a safe environment to grow, build meaningful relationships, and enjoy positive experiences.

  • Assist the home’s management in achieving its aims and uphold the organisation’s mission and values.
  • Support and lead the care team to meet the changing needs of children and young people, and assist in daily operations.
  • Support the Registered Home Manager to provide high-quality childcare in a safe, caring environment.
  • Monitor and supervise staff during shifts, complete daily tasks, and guide colleagues while ensuring the welfare of young people.
  • Support the development of residential care workers through role modeling, guidance, and debriefing.
  • Help establish an effective supervision structure for the care team.
  • Engage in direct work with children, review case files, update plans, and support review meetings, advocating for the children as needed.
  • Work with children demonstrating challenging behaviors, focusing on their needs through a dynamic team approach.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to achieve optimal outcomes for young people.
  • Provide supervision and support to the care team in line with standards and regulations.
  • Promote a PACE approach and role model best practices during shifts.

Shift Pattern: Two on, two off, working full 48-hour shifts from 10:00 to 10:00.

Requirements:

  • Driving Licence - Essential
  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care or working towards it - Essential
  • At least 2 years of experience in Children's Residential Care - Essential
