Job description

Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker (RSW)

Location(s): Various Locations

Salary: £11.00 – £16.00 per hour based on shift pattern

As an RSW, you will support young people in their daily lives, attending to their practical, physical, and emotional needs, acting as a role model, and helping them reach their goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality care and support for children and young people.
  • Following guidelines from the 1989 Children’s Act, National Minimum Standards, and other legislation.
  • Creating a nurturing and secure environment.
  • Building positive relationships with young people.
  • Ensuring care plans are followed and up-to-date.
  • Managing practical matters such as cooking, cleaning, and home maintenance.
  • Acting as key worker to ensure plans are met.
  • Providing emotional support during difficult times.
  • Supporting educational and extracurricular activities.
  • Representing young people's interests in meetings.
  • Dealing with challenging behavior.
