Package Description: Have you ever wanted to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable Children and Young People? Our children’s home in Walkden, Salford, provides residential care for Children and Young People with Autism and Learning Difficulties. We have a vacancy for a Children's Residential Support Worker in our Walkden, Salford service to be part of our experienced team. You will work in a caring home environment with the wider team under the leadership of the Registered Manager, nurturing and supporting the young people, providing them with all the care, love, and support they would receive as if it was their family home. The hours are 37.5 per week worked over 5 shifts per week on a rota system which includes weekend working. The annual salary for this role is £24,700.00 (£12.67 ph.) per year plus biennial increments. Additional enhancements include weekend pay at 25% premium and sleep-in payments of £100.80 per sleep.

  • Providing a caring, safe, and secure environment that meets the physical, health, social needs, and rights of the young people.
  • Supporting educational opportunities and achievements for the young people.
  • Undertaking direct work to meet the young person’s needs as identified within the care plan.
  • Taking responsibility for key working at least one young person under supervision.
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing reports for planning and statutory reviews.
  • Supporting young people with personal care needs and encouraging independence.
  • Undertaking domestic duties like cooking and cleaning.

  • Ability to write reports, organize, and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Transferable skills if lacking direct experience with children.
