Children's Residential Support Worker - Northampton, UK

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Support children in daily activities, including education, leisure, and personal care.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers and educators.
  • Document and report on the progress and needs of each child.
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, social work, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Understanding of child development and safeguarding practices.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support children.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
