Children's Residential Support Worker

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Childcare Professionals to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for caring for children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development in a nurturing environment. This role involves engaging with children in various activities, providing emotional support, and fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes learning and growth.

Although experience and qualifications are desirable - candidates who wish to start out out on a new career will be considered as long as you have transferable life skills - and the ability to relate to children and young people . Training will be provided including Level 4 Diploma Residential Child Care.

Children's Residential Support Worker Duties

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Assist with daily routines including meal preparation, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  • Manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment for the children.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Administer medication as required, following proper protocols. Training provided
  • Collaborate with other childcare staff to create a supportive team environment.

Children's Residential Support Worker Experience

  • Previous experience in childcare or related fields such as foster care, youth work, or roles in education is preferred but not essential.
  • Skills in behaviour management are highly desirable. including practical experience (including being a parent or child minder)
  • Experience in roles such as football coaching, child care, nursing home care or hospice care will be considered an asset.
  • Experience with raising your own children, foster care, coaching sport on any aspect of engaging and interacting with children either in work or in life will be considered an asset - this includes being an older trusted sibling.
  • A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children when necessary. Staff without a licence must commit to learning.
