Job description

Children's Residential Support Worker

Birmingham - B14

£12.21 per hour (sleep-in's £50 flat rate)

7am - 7.30pm

You will support children with bedtime routines and engage in activities that may be adrenaline-fueled, requiring playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy, with an emphasis on structure and routine.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in providing a safe and nurturing home environment suitable for the children's age, understanding, and needs.
  2. Support children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
  3. Assist with daily activities and encourage children to participate in decisions about their care.
  4. Support children in taking responsibility for their self-care and personal hygiene appropriate to their age.
  5. Promote good health and welfare, identifying needs and ensuring appropriate services are provided.
  6. Develop positive relationships with young people and help them develop existing skills and learn new ones.
  7. Act as a positive role model and support young people transitioning from care into adulthood.
  8. Maintain records related to each young person, contribute to care plans, and provide reports as required.
