Job summary

Your Chapter Ltd. is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to lead a therapeutic home for vulnerable children. You will supervise staff, ensure high-quality care, and support day-to-day routines including personal care, meals and activities within a safe, nurturing environment.

The role requires leadership, resilience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care, with the ability to work flexible shifts and participate in occasional sleep-ins within the salary package.

Job description

Children's Residential Senior Support Worker

Salary: Up to £37,154.00 per annum

Hours: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours/week)

Shift Pattern: Flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and an average of two sleep-ins per week (included in salary)

Sleep-In Rate: £55 per sleep-in (included in total salary package)

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a key leadership role within one of our therapeutic homes, helping to shape a safe, nurturing environment where children can begin to heal and thrive.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading by Example:Supporting the team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care
• Day-to-Day Support:Assisting children with routines such as personal care, meals, and activities
• Mentoring Staff:Guiding junior team members, sharing knowledge, and supporting development
• Emotional and Behavioural Support: Helping children regulate emotions and manage challenges
• Promoting Learning:Supporting education, skill-building, and personal growth
• Maintaining Records:Ensuring accurate documentation and contributing to care planning
• Creating a Safe Home:Helping maintain a positive, safe, and structured environment
