Job summary

Pharmacyupdate is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our childcare team in Cardiff. The role focuses on supporting children's well-being, development, and daily activities within a nurturing environment.

You will develop individualised care plans, promote safe play and learning, and maintain clear communication with families and professionals. Evening or weekend availability may be required to meet organisational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a UK childcare or support setting.
• Knowledge of child development principles and care planning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Compassionate and well-organised with flexible availability.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist children with daily activities, including personal care, play and educational tasks.
• Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
• Support children in engaging with educational and recreational activities to promote development.
• Maintain clear communication with families, colleagues and external professionals regarding progress and concerns.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Drive children to appointments or activities as required, maintaining a clean driving record.
• Keep accurate records of care provided, observations, and any incidents in line with organisational policies.
• Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive environment that encourages confidence and independence.
