Overview

Daytime Healthcare are assisting a Children's Home based in Birmingham to find an experienced Registered Manager or Deputy Manager that would like to step up to a Registered Manager role to join the team. This is a 4 bed home, with 1 Service User that required constant support. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a refurbished home, as part of a group with big growth plans.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, support, and develop two teams to provide a therapeutic, child-centred environment.
  • Maintain full compliance with Ofsted and Children's Homes Regulations.
  • Design and manage personalised care plans that meet each child's emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.
  • Take overall responsibility for safeguarding in both homes.
  • Recruit, mentor, and train staff across both homes, promoting a trauma-informed and learning-focused culture.
  • Work in partnership with local authorities, social workers, schools, health professionals, and families.
  • Manage rotas, staffing, budgets, and resources across both settings.
Qualifications
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). You could also be currently completing this.
  • Minimum 2 years in a senior role within children's residential care.
  • Sound understanding of trauma-informed care and safeguarding legislation.
  • Full driving licence preferred due to travel between homes and emergency cover responsibilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, safeguarding law, and Ofsted expectations.
  • Proven experience supporting young people with EBD/challenging behaviours.
  • Experience managing or deputising in a children's residential care setting.
