A local government authority in Scotland is looking for a dedicated professional to work in child protection services. This rewarding role involves responding to children in need of care, working collaboratively with families, and ensuring their rights are protected. To qualify, applicants must hold a relevant qualification and PVG membership, with strong communication and multi-agency collaboration skills valued. The position offers flexible working arrangements.

Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour)).
The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first FULL month’s salary payment.
Successful applicants will be responding to children who may be in need of care and protection, working with families where children and young people may have experienced trauma. The post is rewarding, and relies on a clear understanding of the National Practice Model GIRFEC, as well as a sound knowledge of Child Protection, within the field of Children's Services. Applicants must have good communication skills and should be committed to or have experience of multi-agency working.
