Eventus Legal in Sunderland seeks an experienced Children's Panel Solicitor to join a collaborative public family law team on a full-time, permanent basis. Hybrid working is available to accommodate court commitments, with a generous annual leave package and Christmas closure periods. Part-time consideration may be possible for the right candidate.

The role involves handling public children law matters, safeguarding procedures and providing sensitive client advice within a Lexcel-accredited firm.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with approximately 5 years' post-qualification experience in public children law and care proceedings.
• Membership of the Law Society's Children Law Accreditation Scheme (Children Panel) is essential.
• Experience managing a varied caseload in public children law, including care proceedings.
• Strong client care, advocacy and case management skills with professional judgement.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of public children law and care proceedings, including child protection and adoption.
• Advise and represent children, parents and family members in complex proceedings.
• Prepare cases for court hearings and strategy meetings, meeting court directions and deadlines.
• Maintain relationships with guardians, counsel and other professionals.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to departmental development.
