Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident and knowledgeable Children’s Mental Health Support Worker to join a successful primary school in Macclesfield. This long-term role offers the opportunity to contribute to children’s development within a dynamic staff team.
The school provides a broad and inspiring experience for children, encouraging independence. You will support a child with additional needs, possibly including autism, and work with groups and individuals on learning, play, and craft activities. Responsibilities include resource creation, assessments, behavior management, and contributing to daily routines.
This role will involve:
- Supporting children across curriculum areas
- Leading activity groups in core subjects like Phonics, Reading, Maths, and Writing
- Working with individuals on learning activities
- Preparing resources and classroom areas
- Conducting assessments and recording data
- Assisting with daily routines
- Engaging children in indoor and outdoor learning and play
- Liaising with parents
Location: Macclesfield
Duration: Ongoing
Position: Children’s Mental Health Support Worker
Full-time, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm daily
Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
- Experience in a UK primary school setting
- Supporting Early Years, Supporting Teaching and Learning (Level 2), Education Studies Degree, Psychology Degree, or similar
- Recent Safeguarding and Prevent training (within last 12 months); online training available through Prospero
Eligibility Requirements:
- Right to Work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS registered with the update service or willingness to apply (costs apply)
- Two professional references from the past 2 years
