Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident and knowledgeable Children’s Mental Health Support Worker to join a large, successful primary school in Knutsford. This is a great opportunity for a long-term role where you can contribute to children's development and be part of a dynamic staff team.

The school has a supportive and positive staff team committed to providing children with inspiring and broad educational experiences. Children are encouraged to be independent learners through diverse learning and play opportunities. You will support one child with additional needs, potentially including autism, although undiagnosed due to the child's age. Additionally, you will work with groups and individuals on learning, play, and craft activities, contribute to classroom management, create resources, conduct assessments, and manage behaviour.

This role will involve:

  • Providing targeted support and interventions across curriculum areas
  • Leading activity groups in core subjects such as Phonics, Reading, Maths, and Writing
  • Supporting individual learning and development activities
  • Preparing resources and classroom areas
  • Conducting assessments and maintaining records
  • Assisting with daily routines for children
  • Engaging children in indoor and outdoor learning and play activities
  • Liaising with parents
  • Duration – Ongoing
  • Position – Children’s Mental Health Support Worker
  • Full-time, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm daily

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a UK primary school setting

- Supporting roles in Early Years, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (Level 2 or higher), Education Studies Degree, Psychology Degree, or similar qualifications

- Up-to-date Safeguarding and Prevent training within the last 12 months (free online training available through Prospero if needed)

Eligibility Criteria:

- Right to Work in the UK

- An Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to apply for a new one (cost applicable)

- Two professional references from the past 2 years
