Job description

Children's Locality Team - Social Worker

Pay rate - £40 Umbrella

City of Bristol Council

£40 per hour UMB

5 days per week in the office and candidates will need to commit to this. Therefore, they will need to be local to the South West.

There are opportunities in 2 area offices (Symes House BS130EE, Ridingleaze House BS11 0QE)

Bristol offers a opportunity to work in supportive and caring teams.

The position involves undertaking assessments under S17 & S47 and then working with children in need, with children on a CP plan and with families in pre-proceedings or in the court system. The service is offered by small units made up of a Team Manager, 3 Social Workers, a Family Support Worker and an Assistant.
The teams sit together, and we do not hot-desk. There is good management support and many opportunities for joint working. The city is vibrant and diverse and the work is varied. There are good Early Intervention Services and support from voluntary agencies in the city. We use a strengths based approach and systemic principals in our work with families. The recording system is Liquid Logic (LCS)

As we prioritise relationship based practice we expect workers to be present in the office. Occasional home working when social workers have complex reports to write up is agreed but this is as and when needed rather than set days. Staff feedback is that there is good management support and the offices are friendly environments to work in. The service is anticipating an inspection in the next few months so we are working hard to make sure recording is up-to-date so we need all our social workers to be good at getting information on LCS.
