  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or the willingness to achieve this qualification with our support.
  • An understanding of child development, safeguarding and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A compassionate, resilient and child-centred approach.
  • The ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
  • Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.

Hockley Houseis a pioneering new children's home in Romsey for young people aged 12-18 with complex emotional, behavioural and mental health needs. As Hampshire's first residential home to bring together social care, healthcare and education in one setting, we're helping children build stability, resilience and brighter futures through intensive, trauma-informed support.

Joining Hockley House as a Support Worker is a rare opportunity to be part of a brand-new service. Working alongside residential, health and education professionals, you'll help create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can build confidence, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes.

What you'll do

Our service which operates all year round 24/7 and your shift pattern will include some bank holidays, weekends and sleep in duties. Enhancements are paid in line with the HCC salary policy.
