Job summary

Luna Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a solo-occupancy children’s residential home in Slough. You will deliver safeguarding, ensure regulatory compliance and drive a child-centred culture.

The role requires prior Ofsted registration, a minimum Good rating, and leadership excellence to develop staff and maintain high-quality care with trauma-informed practice.

Qualifications

• Previously registered as a Registered Manager.
• Minimum Ofsted rating: Good (Outstanding desirable).
• Strong safeguarding, risk management and regulatory compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide full operational leadership of a solo children's home.
• Maintain compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations.
• Lead, supervise, and develop staff through coaching, reflective practice, and professional accountability.
• Oversee care planning, risk management, incident reporting, and quality assurance.
• Build positive, trauma-informed relationships with children to promote stability and safety.
• Work collaboratively with local authorities, social workers, and external professionals.
• Ensure high standards of documentation, reporting, and regulatory readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement and maintain a positive, child-centred culture.

Registered Manager - Solo Children's Residential Home

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (negotiable for exceptional candidates) + performance bonuses

Location: Slough

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent

We are recruiting an experienced, previously Ofsted-registered Registered Manager to lead a solo-occupancy children's residential home in Slough. This role is only suitable for managers who have already held registration and achieved minimum Good ratings within children’s residential care.

This is a chance to take ownership of a high-quality solo provision, supported by a values-driven organisation with strong compliance, trauma-informed practice, and a genuinely supportive senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full operational leadership of a solo children's home
• Maintain compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted expectations
• Lead, supervise, and develop staff through coaching, reflective practice, and professional accountability
• Oversee care planning, risk management, incident reporting, and quality assurance

Essential Requirements

• Previously registered as a Registered Manager
• Minimum Ofsted rating: Good (Outstanding desirable)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and regulatory compliance
• Confident leadership style with the ability to motivate, support, and challenge staff
• Calm, professional decision-making and resilience in complex situations
• Passion for child-centred, trauma-informed practice
• Level 3 Residential Childcare essential; Level 5 preferred or willingness to work towards it
