Job Opportunity: Children s Home Manager

We are seeking an experienced Children s Home Manager to join a well-established provider in Leaving Care & Fostering, now expanding into Residential Children s Care. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the culture of a new home, lead a dedicated team, and support children and young people in achieving their unique aspirations. This full-time, permanent role offers a salary of £49,150 per year and is available for immediate start.

Key Details:

  • Location: Billinge, Merseyside
  • Home: A new 4 bedded residential children s home focused on supporting children and young people s unique journeys.
  • Role Overview: Assist the Responsible Individual in developing and managing a Registered Children s Home, ensuring compliance with Children Acts 1989 & 2004, Care Standards Act 2000, and Children s Homes Regulations 2015. Safeguard children, promote their welfare, and protect them from harm. Lead and develop staff, supervise the Deputy Manager, maintain records, manage budgets, rotas, and on-call schedules. Coordinate admissions/discharges, liaise with Social Workers, GPs, education staff, parents/carers, commissioning partners, police, LSCB, and Ofsted. Ensure high professional standards, effective team communication, regular staff meetings, and a well-maintained facility.
  • Career Growth: Shape a new service with potential for advancement within the residential provision.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualification & Experience: Certificate of Higher Education or equivalent (preferred); at least 1 year of leadership and children s home experience (preferred). Experience managing a registered children s home and achieving Ofsted compliance is highly desirable.
  • Skills & Commitment: Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills to deliver high-quality care. Dedication to safeguarding, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Passion & Licence: Passion for supporting children s goals; valid driving licence (preferred).
