Children’s Home Manager

Are you a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager looking for the next step in your career?

I am looking for a Registered Manager for a 3 bedded service providing a home to children and young people with mental health issues and emotional and behavioural disorders. The home is rated as ‘Good’ with Ofsted and is part of a charity helping to transform the lives of young people and adults across the UK.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the residential home on a day-to-day basis
  • Liaise with other departments and external agencies to ensure that the young people receive appropriate plans, programmes and support
  • Coach, support and develop staff, including supervision, to maximise their performance and ensure high standards of care
  • Assist in budget preparation and manage and control budgets
  • Interpret and implement changes in legislation relating to occupancy to ensure any requirements are met
  • Identify resourcing needs and the ongoing selection, training and development of staff

For this rewarding role you must have:

  • A professional social work qualification, QCF Level 5 in Leadership in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or be working towards this
  • Managerial experience within a similar environment
  • 2 years residential care experience
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience of project/ work planning, monitoring and reviewing
  • A knowledge of basic accounting principles and the ability to interpret financial information
