Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join a growing team in a modern, stand-alone Children's Emergency Department by the sea in the South East of England.

This role is designed to increase the provision of consultant-delivered care in the Children's Emergency Department during peak hours over weekends.

Working as part of a busy and vibrant team, you will lead on the delivery of excellent care within the paediatric emergency department,

This post will contribute to the consultant-led care provided in the Children's emergency Department and to increased consultant presence at weekends.

Main duties of the job

This role is designed to increase the provision of consultant-delivered care in the Children's Emergency Department during peak hours over weekends.

These posts are suitable for consultants with an interest in Paediatric Emergency Medicine / Acute Paediatrics from either a Paediatric or Emergency Medicine background. The role will complement the existing team of 9 regular Children's Emergency Department consultants.

Working as part of a busy and vibrant team, you will lead on the delivery of excellent care within the paediatric emergency department.

Two types of post

  • The post is 1.99PA (1.75DCC; 0.25 SPA) and it is anticipated this will consist of working the equivalent of 1 in 8 weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday 3pm-2am).

  • The post is 1.68PA (1.44DCC; 0.24 SPA) and it is anticipated this will consist of working the equivalent of 1 in 10 weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday 3pm-2am).

  • Rotas and job planning occur on the HealthRota platform allowing flexibility in rostering of shifts and the potential to self rota.
