The Children's Emergency Department (CED) is expanding into a newly built department for children and young people aged 0-18. The new CED features an audio-visual separate waiting area, 5 bed spaces (including a 2-bedded resus), and a quiet room. While the environment is fast-paced, we support learning opportunities to help you develop your clinical skills. You will encounter a variety of traumatic and medical cases, working closely with paediatric nurses and doctors to deliver holistic care.
Our department sees approximately 13,000 children and young people annually, with presentations ranging from unwell infants to minor injuries and trauma. We are committed to improving our services and maintaining high-quality care. We have been rated Gold in our Quality Assurance Accreditation Scheme audits for three consecutive years.
