Job description
Overview

Join Whittington Health's Children's Complex Care team as a Clinical Lead Nurse, providing expert leadership and case management for children and young people with complex and evolving needs across Islington, Camden, and Haringey. Our patients include children with complex physical health needs, as well as those with autism and behaviours that challenge access to healthcare.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to children with complex health needs in the home setting.
  • Train and develop care staff through competencies to ensure they are sufficiently skilled to care for specific children on the complex care caseload.
  • Assist the senior practitioner in the supervision, teaching and supporting of a team of associate carers that provide health care support for children dependent on technology.
  • Support the Senior Practitioner in the review of care plans and outcomes, contributing to regular reports for managers and commissioners.
  • Involve parents and young people in service review.
  • Attend staff and other relevant meetings/team days.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to implement elements of clinical governance and contribute to improving standards of care in line with recommendations.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Qualified nurse with current registration and relevant experience in children's health and complex care settings.
  • Experience in leadership, case management, and working across home and community-based care.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills, with the ability to work with families, schools, social services and Integrated Care Board partners.
