Job description

We are inviting applicants to join our busy but welcoming children's research team from March 2026 for 12 months. Leeds Children's Hospital is research active with over 140 studies ongoing and up to 1000 patients recruited per year. We have a dedicated clinical research facility that provides a specialist environment for the safe delivery of complex treatments. Leeds Children's Hospital is delighted to offer a unique opportunity for a Paediatric Resident Doctor to gain experience in clinical research delivery and develop their own research study. We are privileged to have a dedicated Children's Clinical Research Fellow (CCRF) to support research activity.

The Leeds children's research team is a fantastic, friendly, and highly motivated team consisting of nurses, medics, data managers, and clinical trials assistants. Based within a large teaching hospital serving a population of over 1 million people, and up to 3 million in the wider region, we deliver care across various paediatric specialties, including respiratory, diabetes, general surgery, oncology, neonates, and neuromuscular disorders.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual capable of contributing to our research development. The Clinical Research Fellow (CCRF) will primarily work within the existing research team, providing senior medical support on the Clinical Research Facility. There is potential to develop a research project of your own, aiming to prepare for a career in clinical research. The post holder will be a key member of the clinical research team, assisting in medical management, coordination, and facilitation of clinical trial activities. All new team members will undergo a 4-week induction program, including training by the research and innovation training academy. Each fellow will be assigned a clinical supervisor within the department.
