Children's Care Worker (BBBH4328) Telford, England

Salary: GBP24960 - GBP26416 per annum

We have an INCREDIBLE opportunity for several Children’s Care Workers to join a FANTASTIC 5-bedded Children’s Residential Service in Telford rated OUTSTANDING with Ofsted, supporting children & young people between the ages of 8-18 who have experienced early childhood traumas in the Health and Social Care Sector.

Supporting young people in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, you can enable them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.

**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car**

Salary: up to £26,567 per year (inclusive of sleep-ins)

Location: Telford (TF1 postcode)

Shift pattern: 12/24/48 hour shift pattern - there is some flexibility here for the right candidates to work long days / 1 on 2 off shift pattern or 2 on 4 off shift pattern

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities of a Children's Care Worker

  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
  • Maintain a homely, friendly environment in the homes.
  • Deal effectively with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment and keep up-to-date with individual care plans, guidelines, reward systems, and communication preferences.
  • Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives, such as Psychologists.

Requirements of a Children's Care Worker

  • A full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential (minimum 1 year driving experience) due to the location and requirements of the role.
  • Experience within a children's residential setting or with challenging behaviours is advantageous.
  • Candidates with experience in Sports Coaching, Camp America, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Guiding and Scouting Movements, or Youth Work are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be aged 23 or over, due to the oldest child's age and organizational policies.
