Job summary

Law Staff Ltd client is seeking an experienced Children Panel Solicitor with around 3 years PQE+ to join a nationally recognised, Band 1 Chambers and Partners family law department. Hybrid working and a health cash-back plan are among attractive benefits.

You will handle a varied caseload including Legal Aid, provide advocacy on your own cases, stay abreast of developments, ensure compliance, and contribute to the team's growth through networking and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with around 3 years’ PQE+ in children law.
• Experience handling publicly and privately funded matters, including Legal Aid.
• Strong advocacy and regulatory compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of children proceedings and domestic abuse matters.
• Provide advocacy on own cases and support colleagues with advocacy when needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in family law and Legal Aid rules.
• Ensure compliance with firm policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to team growth through networking, articles and online engagement.

The Children Panel Solicitor will demonstrate strong knowledge of:

• Managing a varied caseload of both publicly and privately funded children and domestic abuse matters, including Legal Aid work.
• Providing advocacy on your own cases as well as supporting colleagues with advocacy requirements where needed.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal developments, particularly within your specialist area of practice, and applying this knowledge effectively.
• Ensuring compliance with firm policies, departmental procedures, and regulatory requirements, including Legal Aid Agency, Lexcel, and professional standards.
• Playing an active role in the continued growth and development of the team and wider business through marketing initiatives, including attending networking events, contributing articles, and engaging proactively on social media platforms.
