Child Care Department:

Highly regarded by The Legal 500, our Child Care Department specializes in all aspects of child care law, representing guardians, children, and parents, including cases involving adoption, surrogacy, and same-sex partnerships. Our team includes Law Society Children and Family Panel Members and members of the Association for Lawyers for Children. We are on the Lord Chancellor’s International Child Abduction and Contact Unit referral list and handle high-profile cases involving complex issues.

Main Responsibilities of the Role:
  1. Report directly to Department Director
  2. Manage all aspects of Child Care work, providing expertise and guidance
  3. Supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers
  4. Assist with training and development
  5. Handle a range of public and private children cases, including advocacy
  6. Maintain a professional, proactive approach with strong client care and business development skills
Key Skills Required:
  1. Valid Practising Certificate at application
  2. Law Society registration; Children Panel membership preferred
  3. Team player, fostering positive change and cross-referrals
  4. Supervisory experience and KPI management
  5. Excellent client care, especially with vulnerable clients
  6. Networking and marketing skills to generate business
  7. Knowledge of publicly funded Child Care work and private cases
  8. Experience with adoption matters; advocacy skills are a plus
  9. Proficiency in IT and document management

Legal Accreditation Support:

Salary:

Starting at £48,000 in London/M25 for new panel members, with progression based on accreditation status.
