Job summary

A healthcare provider in Macclesfield is seeking a compassionate Band 5 Mental Health Practitioner to join the Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Service team. You'll provide high-quality care to children aged 0-18, conducting assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions. The role requires a registered mental health professional with a passion for supporting young people's mental health. Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Band 5 Mental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Service (CYPMHS) team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This role involves providing high-quality mental health care to children and young people aged 0-18, conducting assessments, developing care plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions.

The successful candidate will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to support young people with a range of emotional, psychological, and behavioural difficulties. You will have the opportunity to work in a rewarding environment, contributing to the well-being and development of young people, while receiving support and supervision to further your professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct mental health and risk assessments.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker with relevant professional body registration.
  • Passion for working with children and young people in a mental health setting.

You will have: -

  • A high level of enthusiasm and dedication to providing quality, community based mental health services to children, young people, and their families
  • Experience in providing interventions & formulations to address the needs of the client group
  • Experience of working with children and young people who, due to their mental and emotional health needs, present with a level of clinical risk
  • Experience of working under pressure and in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • To have the skill to adapt and the flexibility to think on your feet due to the nature of your role
  • Access to transport or have the ability to travel to a variety of venues as part of the working day
