Overview

This role will be to provide Occupational Therapy assessment, advice and treatment to children and young people with a range of needs including; coordination, developmental, physical functional, sensory and sensory motor either in 1:1 input, groups or integrated MDT groups. The role will include writing professional reports and advice for Education Health and Care plans and providing written activity programs for the treatment process. The role will include work within a local clinic, schools and supporting families across Merton. The successful candidate should ideally have experience of supporting and developing more junior members of staff.

Responsibilities
  • To support provision of a high quality paediatric occupational therapy service to a caseload of children and young people with occupational therapy identified needs.
  • To carry out specific assessments and interventions with children and young people as delegated by a senior Occupational Therapist.
  • To carry a caseload and work independently in a variety of settings, to support children and young people’s occupational therapy needs as appropriate.
  • To support and work with Occupational Therapy Assistants to implement therapy programmes to identified children and young people
