Job description

Do you have experience of working to support families, children and young people and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career within the domestic abuse sector? If so, Fortalice wants to hear from you! The posts will be community based, working from our Children and Young Peoples Hub in Bolton with sessions held both within the Centre and in the community.

Children and Young Peoples Community Project Worker

Hours: 17.5 hours per week

Job Type: Temporary until 21.08.2027, with the possibility of extension

Subject To Additional Funding.

Hourly rate: £15.50 per hour

Purpose Of The Role

The Children and Young Peoples Worker will support young people, aged 0-16, from the Bolton area to work through trauma as a result of exposure to Domestic Abuse and Violence (DAV). The Worker will be allocated cases via our partner agencies, Endeavour and Bolton at Home, supporting these young people both individually and as part of group work sessions. Collaborative work with adult support workers based within those partner agencies will offer a whole family support network.

Key Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of multi-agency working within the Bolton area when working with families, children and young people with complex issues.
  • An ability to support children and young people with complex issues including challenging behaviour, mental health issues, self-harm and risk-taking behaviour
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding, Child Protection, Early Help, Adults at Risk and a commitment to follow procedure.
