Job summary

Nudge Education is seeking compassionate practitioners to deliver personalised 1:1 support to young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs in community settings. This role focuses on safe, engaging learning outside traditional classrooms, supporting attendance and progression.

You will work to build trusted relationships with vulnerable young people, monitor progress, complete risk assessments, and collaborate with families and regional teams to ensure consistent support.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in roles supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Experience working with young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to commit to at least three days per week.
  • Willingness to obtain business car insurance before starting.

Around 90,000 young people across the UK are persistently absent from education each year. At Nudge Education, we support children and young people who are disengaged from education through tailored mentoring and interventions that help them reconnect, rebuild confidence, and thrive.

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and adaptable practitioners to deliver personalised 1:1 support to young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs.

This is a community-based role, working beyond traditional classrooms to create safe, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences.

You will:
  • Deliver tailored intervention sessions
  • Build positive and consistent relationships with young people
  • Monitor progress and report safeguarding concerns
  • Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate records
  • Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and regional teams
Who We’re Looking For

You may come from education, youth work, healthcare, social care, coaching, uniformed services, or other people-focused backgrounds.

We value empathy, resilience, creativity, and the ability to build trust with vulnerable young people.

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of three days’ availability per week to provide consistency for our young people
  • Willingness to obtain business car insurance prior to commencing the role

Practicalities
  • Flexible opportunities based on location and student match
  • £16–£25 per hour for lead roles, plus agreed expenses
