Job summary

Nudge Education Limited is recruiting compassionate practitioners to deliver personalised 1:1 support to young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs in community settings across Nottingham. This is a flexible, impact-driven role outside traditional classrooms, requiring a commitment of at least three days per week and strong safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience supporting students with ASD and ADHD.
  • Experience using trauma-informed approaches for ACEs.

Around 90,000 young people across the UK are persistently absent from education each year. At Nudge Education, we support children and young people who are disengaged from education through tailored mentoring and interventions that help them reconnect, rebuild confidence, and thrive.

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and adaptable practitioners to deliver personalised 1:1 support to young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs.

This is a community-based role, working beyond traditional classrooms to create safe, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences.

You will:

  • Deliver tailored intervention sessions
  • Build positive and consistent relationships with young people
  • Monitor progress and report safeguarding concerns
  • Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate records
  • Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and regional teams
Who We’re Looking For

You may come from education, youth work, healthcare, social care, coaching, uniformed services, or other people-focused backgrounds.

We value empathy, resilience, creativity, and the ability to build trust with vulnerable young people.

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience supporting students with ASD and ADHD
  • Experience of using trauma-informed practice to support students with ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences)
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of three days’ availability per week to provide consistency for our young people
  • Willingness to obtain business car insurance prior to commencing the role
Desirable
  • Teaching or therapeutic qualifications
  • Safeguarding or de-escalation training
Practicalities
  • Flexible opportunities based on location and student match
  • £16–£25 per hour for lead roles, plus agreed expenses
  • Monday–Friday daytime availability required
  • Consistent availability is essential to provide stability for young people
