Job description

This is a position for a Social Worker within our Connecting Families Team. This team is specifically focused on supporting children to achieve legal permanence through discharge of Care Orders or granting of SGO’s with their connected carers. The role involves working with children in care who are either placed at home with their parents under Placement with Parent Regulations or living with connected carers through the Fostering Standards.

You will support children through statutory looked after procedures, update assessments, and complete court documents to secure legal permanence. The caseload will be approximately 20-22 children. You will receive support through monthly case supervision, personal supervision, and regular input from the team’s social work consultant as needed. The office is based in Pity Me, Durham, with an expectation to be office-based 1-2 days per week for team meetings and collaboration.

Essential Requirements:
  • A professional qualification in social work and registration with Social Work England.
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References covering the last 5 years of employment.
