Children’s Social Worker
Team: North Duty & Assessment
Location: Manchester
Rate: £35

We are looking for a keen and motivated Social Worker who is able to manage risk and put safety plans in place for children and families who are deemed to be children in need or at significant risk of harm. Manage time effectively and keep accurate and up to date records.

Job Role:

  1. Signpost and make referrals to support services and partner agencies to ensure children’s needs are being met.
  2. Complete comprehensive child and family assessments.
  3. Be part of a busy and dynamic duty service in the North of the city, based at Harpurhey District office.
  4. On duty one in every 5 weeks per month and respond to referrals into the social work teams.
  5. Understand the role of child and family development.
  6. Understand factors that impact children including abuse and neglect.
  7. Understand and undertake effective direct work with children and families.
  8. Understand the law and justice system in relation to working with children and families.
