Job description

Children’s Social Worker
Team: MASH
Location: Blackpool
Rate: £41.91
37 hours per week – Hybrid Working – office based 3 days a week.

Blackpool is looking for an Agency Social Worker to cover maternity leave in the Multi Agency Request for Support Hub (MASH), which is central to triaging requests for support for children and their families in Blackpool.

The primary task of social workers within the Request for Support Hub is to provide advice, support, and triage/screen requests for support and phone calls to children services.

This hub serves as the “one front door” to Children’s Social Care, ensuring that referrals are signposted to the appropriate service in line with the Levels of Need. As an experienced Social Worker, you will have a good understanding of the application of thresholds and will demonstrate excellent skills and confidence in liaising with partner agencies.

This post does not involve case holding.

Minimum Requirements:
  1. At least 2 years’ experience in statutory Children’s Social Work
  2. Good understanding of safeguarding children processes
  3. Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  4. Ability to write concise, fit for purpose reports/court statements and maintain up to date and accurate records
  5. Ability to work as part of a team
  6. Experience of inputting into children’s services data systems (Mosaic, ICS)
  7. Ability to be flexible, resilient, and reflective
