Job summary

Wigan Council is on the lookout for a dedicated Children's Social Worker to join their Children in Care/Fostering Team on a temporary basis. Children’s Social Worker – Fostering/CIC #000A16661

About the Role
Wigan Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their Children in Care (CIC) / Fostering Team on a temporary basis.

You will be working with children and young people in care, supporting them through key stages of their journey including care planning, placement with parents, and preparing for independence.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of children in care

Develop and review care plans in line with statutory requirements

Work on placement with parents arrangements and pathway planning

Provide support to separated young people and unaccompanied minors

Undertake life story work to support identity and emotional wellbeing

Record and manage all casework using Liquid Logic

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration

Experience in children in care / fostering teams

Solid understanding of care planning and pathway planning

Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice
