Job description

The role is 10 hours per week, 11.30am to 1.30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, 38 weeks per year, fixed term to March 2026.

There may be other opportunities for additional hours to cover holidays or staff absence at short notice (where possible for the successful candidate to do so).

What will you be doing?

You'll play a key role in supporting our nursery team, stepping in to provide cover while our staff enjoy their well-deserved lunch break. As lunch cover, you will ensure children are supervised and attended to at all times, especially when they are eating their lunch, helping them to become more independent.

You will ensure that children's well-being and safety is always at the forefront. You will be an important member of the team, ensuring that the nursery is compliant with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Requirements and Cambridgeshire County Council policies and procedures. You will offer engaging and purposeful experiences that are appropriate to the children's age and stage of development.

About you

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual who will work closely with the rest of the team and give children the best experiences while they are in the nursery. You will have a flexible approach to adapt to the dynamic needs of the nursery. You will be willing to undertake necessary training, including Child Protection and Paediatric First Aid.
